Birth by Design is hosting a special FREE study group meeting for birth professionals. Doulas, midwives, midwifery students, and childbirth educators will learn how to incorporate chiropractic care in their practice. Dr. Erica Statman of Maimonides Chiropractic in Fairfax will be our guest speaker.
Topics will include:
- The use of chiropractic in pregnancy
- The Webster technique
- How midwives can use chiropractic techniques during birth
- Soft tissue chiropractic work during pregnancy and birth
- Cranial sacral therapy
There will be hands-on opportunities as well as discussion. Please register so that we know how many will attend. We may have to move the meeting location to accomodate the size of the group. Those who register will be notified of any change in location.

Birth by Design provides Midwifery Model of Care to all of the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area.
Peggy Franklin is a Certified Professional Midwife, an RN, and a Naturopathic Doctor. She has been helping childbirthing families for over 30 years, has birthed eight children of her own and is enjoying her eleven grandchildren (so far).
Kim Pekin is a Certified Professional Midwife. She is a retired La Leche League Leader and the former owner of Natural Family Boutique. She is the mother of seven children.
